Terms of Service
These terms govern use of maniTLab.org and desktop software published by Manish Jagdish Thatte under the maniTLab name. Open-source projects that carry their own licence (for example AGPL-3.0) are also governed by that licence; where the two conflict on the software itself, the software licence wins.
The website
You may read, link to, and quote the public pages for ordinary research, press and personal use, with attribution to Manish Jagdish Thatte / maniTLab. You may not present the site or its contents as your own product, scrape it in a way that degrades the service, or use contact forms to send spam or unlawful content.
Patents and proprietary technology
Patent rights in the THATTE stack remain with Manish Jagdish Thatte. Publication of architecture descriptions, blog posts, or demos on this site is not a licence to practise the claimed inventions. Licensing is offered separately — see Licensing.
Desktop software
Software such as the corMani correspondence client is provided so you can manage your own mail and calendars on your own computer. By using it you agree that:
- You will only connect accounts you are authorised to use.
- You are responsible for keeping the machine, its keyring, and its local store secure.
- Provider rules (Google, Microsoft, and any IMAP host you name) still apply to the accounts you connect; this software does not override them.
- Features that embed third-party messaging websites show those sites as they are; their own terms and privacy policies apply to what you do there.
No warranty
The site and the software are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Manish Jagdish Thatte is not liable for loss of mail, calendar data, business interruption, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or the software, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Open-source packages may state their own warranty disclaimer in their licence text; that disclaimer applies to those packages.
Acceptable use of OAuth access
If you grant the software access to a Google or Microsoft account, that access is only for operating the client on your device. You must not use the client to violate the provider’s terms, to harass others, or to process data you have no right to process.
Changes
These terms may be updated by posting a new version at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the site or the software after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
